SUMMARY:Update on SPRS Reporting and DIBCAC Medium Assessments
DESCRIPTION:First there was DFARS 7012. Then 7019 and 7020. Then CMMC 2.0. What should defense contractors do to keep up with what seems like a constantly shifting landscape of federal and DoD cybersecurity regulations? \nTo stay current on government requirements and expectations\, join guest speaker John Ellis\, Director of the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)’s Software Division and one of the founders of the Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Assessment Center (DIBCAC) for this new webinar from the Cyber Collaboration Center on Thursday May 5 at 4:00 PM ET. \nMr. Ellis will provide more insight into how the cybersecurity compliance of small and medium-sized contractors is being assessed currently and what the plans are for the future. The DIBCAC has begun conducting Medium confidence assessments on small and medium-sized contractors\, reviewing System Security Plans to determine whether contractor cybersecurity status is being reported accurately through Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS) across the supply chain\, and identify areas that need improvement. Ellis is consistently one of the most popular and informative speakers in the Cyber Collaboration Center webinar series\, and will deliver the most current information available. \nYou’ll also learn more about how SPRS provides government procurement personnel with information that can be used to assess cyber risk\, and experts from eResilience will review strategies and best practices for accurate reporting. \nGet the latest information directly from industry and government cybersecurity thought leaders in this new webinar from the Cyber Collaboration Center.

SUMMARY:SAME Honolulu Post and HCES - 2022 Engineers Week "Kick-off" Webinar
DESCRIPTION:SAME HONOLULU POST AND HAWAII COUNCIL OF ENGINEERING SOCIETIES (HCES)\n2022 ENGINEERS WEEK “KICK-OFF” WEBINAR \nOnline via Microsoft Teams Meeting (Microsoft Teams Meeting call-in information will be emailed to you 12 hours prior to the webinar.) – Register by 12 am HST\, February 22\, 2022. \nTopic: Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program (SIOP) \nPresenter: RADM Dean VanderLey\, Commander\, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Pacific \nSynopsis:\nThe Navy’s four public shipyards perform a vital role in national defense by executing maintenance on submarines and aircraft carriers in order to provide combat-ready ships to the fleet. Originally designed and built in the 19th century\, the Navy’s public shipyards are not efficiently configured to maintain and modernize nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and submarines. \nTo create the shipyards that our nation needs and to manage significant investment in facilities and equipment\, the Navy established the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program (SIOP) program office in May 2018 as a centrally-managed program at the Echelon II level to construct and recapitalize dry docks\, optimize infrastructure\, and update industrial plant equipment. In the Pacific area of operations\, SIOP addresses Puget Sound Naval Shipyard at Naval Base Kitsap\, Washington and Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam\, Hawaii.

SUMMARY:Evolving Government Contractor Cybersecurity Requirements
DESCRIPTION:This is a Hawaii PTAC hosted event on cybersecurity with guest speaker\, Adam Austin of Totem Tech. Adam will be giving an update of the evolving government contractor cybersecurity requirements (CMMC 2.0). \nOur adversaries are actively stealing the United States’ military and industrial competitive advantage. Ubiquitous access to every organization’s multi-interconnected information systems facilitates this theft. The US Federal government recognizes the risk of theft of its sensitive information–such as Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)–from its contractors’ information systems. Therefore\, all Federal contractors have certain basic cybersecurity requirements they must implement in their own internal information technology (IT) systems that process Federal contract-related data. Additionally\, contractors that process information related to Department of Defense contracts are beholden to DFARS clauses 252.204-7012/7019/7020/7021 that require significant cybersecurity safeguards\, which are a challenge for any organization of any size to implement. Mr. Austin\, Cybersecurity Lead at Totem.Tech\, a small veteran-owned prime USAF contractor\, will give an overview of these requirements in layman’s terms\, describe some of the challenges of implementation\, and provide some resources that PTAC clients can use to navigate the cybersecurity landscape. Mr. Austin will also explain the ramifications of the evolving DoD Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) that some DoD contractors may have to obtain in the coming years.
